Nina is having a bad day. First she's late for for work and then she's fired from from her waitressing job she so desperately needs. Discovering that she is pregnant, Nina is deeply troubled.  However, she finds an unexpected friend in Jose, the head chef at the restaurant. He himself carries an  immense pain of the past. Through an act of kindness and selflessness they begin a journey of letting go and embracing the value of life. One simple day that changes their lives forever. This movie is amazing and very inspirational. It is a wonderful display of how each of us can touch the life of another. Love and the value of each and every person are strong themes through out the film. And each day's challenges can carry beautiful surprises from God.

Skeeter is a maintenance worker at one of the finest hotels in the  nation but he feels overlooked and taken for granted. After a  promised promotion falls through, he believes that there are no  happy endings to his life story. But all that changes when he has  to babysit his niece and nephew for a couple of nights. As he tells  them bedtime stories, things in his own life begin to change. One  of the greatest themes of this movie is the power of what you say  and how it can affect your life. When you believe in good things  for your life and speak them it can make things happen. Your  words can also influence other people in even the smallest ways.  Another  great theme of this film is choosing to be selfless and  make a difference in others rather than self focused.

For over 200 years the City of Ember has been tucked away underground.  The city was built as a temporary place for the people of the world to dwell  in safety from an unknown catastrophe that had affected the surface of the world.  However, now the city, deteriorated by time, is in shambles.  The generator that runs the city's power is failing.  The problem is, no one knows how to get out.  In the story we follow Doon and Lina, who are trying to uncover the truth of the City of Ember.  This story is a phenomenal tale of seeking the truth despite the odds.  There are also other themes of how greed and religiousity won't set you free.  Another theme is spiritual apathy.  The truth will set you free...but not if you choose to be naive to spiritual conditions.  Another strong theme is that we as humans are made for a greater purpose and for a greater world than this one we presently dwell.  But we must take steps, and apply the truth to get us there.
